In memory of Harold Budd.

American composer Harold Budd passed away last year at the beginning of December, at the age of 84. He was an unprecedented composer and creator of atmospheres who composed with subtlety and light, impressionistic touches. Budd was initially inspired by minimal music, but he gradually constructed his own distinct, ambient style. He collaborated with kindred spirits like Brian Eno, Jon Gibson, Daniel Lentz and the band Cocteau Twins. In this broadcast of Theme, we will play some of his classic ambient works, solo projects and one-off collaborations with pop artist Andy Partridge and his minimal music colleague, saxophone player Jon Gibson, who also died last year.
