Wandering around Jewish music

sun 21 may 2023 17:00 hrs

Music by the Payadora Tango Ensemble & by Leo Fuld.

Payadora Tango Ensemble.
Silent Tears’ music is based on poems, testimonies and writings by women who were victims of sexual violence and torture during the Holocaust. Some songs are from a project led by Dr. Paula David, a social worker at a Jewish residential care home in Toronto, who helped survivors process their trauma by writing collective poetry. Silent Tears by the Payadora Tango Ensemble also includes five works based on Holocaust survivor Molly Applebaum’s diary and memoir, Buried Words. She is now 92 years old and lives in Toronto. As a species, she was buried underground in a coffin on a farm in Dombrowa, Poland, with a small hole for breathing.
