Pushparaj Koshti plays raga Des on the surbahar (bass sitar).
We will be featuring three new releases with North Indian raga music, under the label of Sense World Music. Three instrumentalists will pass along, to start Pushparaj Koshti. He plays on the surbahar, a bass sitar, the raga Des in the sober dhrupad style. You will hear the start, the Alap and Jor. After this you can listen to sitar player Shujaat Khan, with a composition in a cycle of 16 beats. The end of this episode is reserved for Rahul Sharma. He plays the santur, the Indian citer. Sharma plays in the raga Rasik Priya a composition in the 7-beats cycle rupak and a composition in the 16-beats cycle teentaal.
