In the series Schatgraven (Treasure Hunt), Maurice Dupont selects forgotten treauses from a certain year in pop music history. Tonight the focus will be on 1976, the year of hits such as “Dancing Queen” by ABBA, “If You Leave Me Now” by Chicago, “Show Me the Way” by Peter Frampton and classic pop albums like “Hotel California by The Eagles and Maurice Jarre’s “Oxygène.” But we won’t be playing any of these. In stead, we will be playing tracks by artists who have largely been forgotten or who were recognized by a broader audience only later, such as the Turkish singer Selda, the punkband Death and reggea singer Horace Andy.
