Roadburn Festival special in X-Rated

Fans of heavy music travel to Tilburg every year for the Roadburn festival, the leading underground festival for all styles of music, as long as they are dark and heavy. This year, Roadburn will take place from April 17 to 20. In X-Rated on Sunday March 30 21:00 CET, Bob Rusche will showcase the bands and music featuring in this year’s Roadburn festival.

Rewire festival special in X-Rated

It’s that time of year again! The Rewire festival will be taking place from April 3 to 6 at various locations in The Hague. This is the 14th festival and, like every year, a very varied range of artists, musicians and other performers will be present. Anna von Hausswolff, Arooj Aftab, Comes & Veldman and Seefeel, among others, will be performing at the festival this year. To be really well prepared, you are advised to listen to X-Rated on Sunday, March 9 at 21:00 CET. The programme is a Rewire special and Bob Rusche will be playing music by the artists who should be seen and heard at the festival.

Winter Solstice 6 : music for the longest night

This year, the Winter Solstice falls on a Saturday, so we can enjoy fascinating sounds that fit this special night on the longest night of the year. If there is one suitable moment to broadcast ambient music all night long, it is of course this dark weekend. And that is what we do – this year for the sixth time. Just like in previous years, Winter Solstice is put together by programme makers Roel Janssen (Space Exposure), Harrold Roeland (Sensenta), Bob Rusche (X-Rated), and Peter van Cooten (DreamScenes). All four have their own view on the genre, which ultimately results in a surprising journey through the night. If staying up all night is too much to ask: the broadcast can of course also be listened to ‘on demand’ afterwards. Tip: it is exactly one working day! Listen: Winter Solstice, Saturday 21st December, 23:00 – 07:00.

Into Daily Life

On Sunday 15 December, the Free Radicals will provide a journey through everyday life at 18:00. Specially for the Free Radicals, programme maker Hessel Veldman delved into his archive of narrative music. Field recordings, spoken word and adventurous sound adaptations climaxing in The Nausea with the composition De Morte Transire. Running through the programme, you will hear fragments from De Lachende Koe by the legendary Rotterdam group Rotterdans. These are unreleased recordings. Furthermore, there will be compositions and spoken word fragments by Laura Kampman (photo), Cora Emens and Marianna Maruyama, among others. If you are a fan of radiophony, experimental music and radio plays, then next week on Saturday 21st December there will be Doodtij in De Pletterij in Haarlem. On Air – On Site

Thursday 31st October at 23:00 the first episode of On Air – On Site in Re:light. On Air – On Site is a festival for experimental music, spoken word, intimate stories and radiophony. In connection with the 2024 edition, which took place from 24 to 26 May, the On Air – On Site curators Leonie Roessler and Margherita Brillada have produced a number of broadcasts especially for the Concertzender.
