In part four of a series of broadcasts on the French naval officer Jean Cras (1879-1932), Cras promotes to commander of the largest ship of the navy. His cabin was large enough to place a grand piano in it. That’s where he writes chamber music and songs. And when he becomes a rear admiral, and finally lives at home, he composes a piano concerto for his gifted daughter Colette. Then suddenly, he dies in 1932.
