Steinbrüchel.
Steinbrüchel makes ice-cold ambient on his laptop. He must love his laptop very much though because it produces wonderfully remarkable sensitive music. That is, if one is patient because Ralf Steinbrüchel knows how to try the listener’s patience. That his music is released on Slaapwel Records is therefore not surprising. The releasing motto of Wim Maesschalk (Wixel) is that he only releases the music if he can fall asleep with it. Steinbrüchels ‘Home’ apparently does just that. In this programme, ‘Home’ is complemented with the mini CD ‘Sustain’ that was released on the Koyuki label not too long ago. Nice detail: both pieces had 150 copies printed.
