Recently released African and Asian world music. The first half hour music from Africa of the album: ‘La Difference’ by Salif Keïta from Mali, followed by works of the album ‘Télévision’ by singer Baaba Maal from Senegal. After that a selection of recently released Afro beat music from the seventies, of the compilation album ‘Nigeria Afrobeat Special’. In the second half music from Asia, with the first part of the this month to be released album ‘He who travels far’ by the Chinese-Mongolian band Hanggai. This group mixes rock music with traditional Mongolian folk music and throat singing in a very original way. To conclude some music from the Indian master guitarist Purbayan Chatterjee, who recorded a new fusion album with his band Stringstruck that was acclaimed to be the best world music album of the year in India. Notable is that Purbayan Chatterjee also sings on this CD and besides the regular sitar also plays on the dwo, a electrical sitar.
