Folk magazine about past and present, from freak folk to minstrels. This time attention for Russian experimental pop music from the eighties, the time of perestrojka and glasnost. A time of big changes in the former Soviet Union, changes that are heard in the exiting and original pop and rock from that time. You will hear names like Ne Zhdali, Pop Mehanika, Brigade S, Alice, Jungle en Auction. But also Aviva, pioneers of the Russian new wave and synthpop. Avia will perform in the Netherlands for the first time at the Perestrojka Festival, that will be held from 8 until 24 November in Amsterdam.
