Neo classical: the pioneers
Neo classical: an elastic term for very beautiful and often very melodic music. Modern music that is a bit of a cross between pop, minimal music, ambient and classical composing styles. From Olafur Arnalds to Nils Frahm, all of whom are young composers who now fall back on an übertonal, classical style. In this Theme broadcast, a flashback to a number of pioneers of the genre. Known and lesser known composers such as Wim Mertens, Harold Budd, Peter Garland and Lubomyr Melnyk can be heard.
