Taking the plunge with Jean Cras

In part 1 (26/8/14) we met Jean Cras: a French high marine officer (1879-1932) who spent all of his free time composing. His style is somewhere between Franck, Duparc, Chausson, Debussy and Ravel. In 1922 he was in the spotlights thanks to the jubilant success of the opera Polyphème. Nowadays he seems to have been forgotten, which does not do him justice.

Concertzender Live

Gaudeamus Music Week jury 2012 and 2013. Every year the Concertzender records almost all concerts at the Gaudeamus Music Week. Of course we broadcast them all, usually in our series Concertzender Live. That doesn’t only mean an overabundance of new pieces by young composers but also a meeting with music by the jury members of the Gaudeamus Concours.
