Singer Howlin’ Wolf (1910-1976). Before he moved to Chicago in 1954, he had made dozens of records in Memphis for three different labels, who sometimes fought tough legal battles. Today recordings for RPM, a label from Los Angeles.

A musical drama by English composer and conductor Mike Westbrook (1936), based on lyrics by William Blake in an arrangement by Adrian Mitchell. The singer is Kate Westbrook and Phil Minton and the recordings are from 2008.

The quartet of trumpetist Rob van de Wouw (1975) plays a current form of fusion, somewhat in the style of the late Miles Davis. The group is on the same wavelength and the material is from the leader. Recordings from 4 April 2013 in Rotterdam.

Conductor, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 29. Today the sequel of live recordings with this orchestra during the Newport Jazz Festival in July 1956.
