The white American pianist Dick Twardzik (1931-1955) is considered by many to be a genius who died too young. From the late 1940s, colleagues considered him to be an avant-gardist within the stylistic notions of that time. Pianist Franco D’Andrea, one of the most famous Italian jazz masters. He shared the stage with the most adventurous Dutch drummer Han Bennink. Alto saxophone player and singer Eddie ‘Cleanhead’ Vinson (1917-1988). As saxophone player he remained rather undervalued, but in the forties he made it as a singer. By doing performances on festivals, he again caught attention from a larger public from 1969.
