Spring is in the air., albeit a moody spring that demands music that connects and offers hope. The Sophia Chamber Choir from Kiev presents choral works full of such reflection under the name ‘Spring Lights’.
On Thursday, June 6, they will give an atmospheric concert in the Grote Kerk in Den Bosch (20:30 CET). The Concertzender will make live recordings that evening. The Sophia Chamber Choir from Kyiv is a passionate advocate of Ukrainian musical culture and travels all over the world. In Den Bosch their performance includes a world premiere by the Dutch-Ukrainian composer Alfred Momotenko. The concert evening is inspired by the prominent Ukrainian poet Dmytro Pavlychko and his poem ‘Vesna | Spring’ in which a subtle link is made between a hopeful spring, radiant lights and a loving mother.
